What is Validation?

Adherence to the strict guidelines set results in cleaner code. Ambiguous elements are eliminated, so pages render correctly in all browsers.
Do i need to validate my web pages?
XHTML is currently readable by a number of browsers, devices (PDAs, mobile phones etc...) and assistive technologies like screen readers. Accessibility is quickly becoming a legal issue and is the law in many countries. Although validation does not guarantee accessibility, it should be important. W3C Markup Validation Service (2009) states that 'a court first awarded damages to a blind user against the owners of a website he found inaccessible'.
